There is a new privacy model in Crafty Scrapbook 0.2.

Like Unix, it is based on the concept of users and groups.

GROUPS

A) Group Admin

Groups will have a single administrator. The administrator's job is
to manage group membership, and to ensure group members use subjects
properly.

B) Normal Group Members

A group may have an unlimited number of normal members. Any person who is
a member of a group may upload new pictures/movies to the group. Anonymous
site browsers and users who are not group members may not upload content. Group
members may also create new subjects to correspond to their newly-uploaded
content. [ is this wise? ]

C) Group Visibility

A group may be either public or private. None of the content in a
private group will ever be visible to non-group members.

A group that is public will show up in the list of groups that anonymous
users may browse. A public group may or may not contain content that is visible
to non-group members, depending on permission settings for the
individual content item, and for the content's associated subject(s).

SUBJECTS

Every subject will belong to a specific group. Currently there is no
way to have a subject (like "Juggling") be visible to multiple groups
(like "Seattle Juggling Club" and "Bear Family") although it is
possible for both groups to contain separate, identically-named
"juggling" subjects. [ I would like to improve this in the future ]

Subjects that are private will only show up to group members.
Content items associated with the private subject may still be
visible to the world if they are also associated with other public subjects.

Weather a subject is private or not has no affect on if an image
associated with that subject can be seen outside the group. A subject
is just a tool used to search for a given set of images. It only
affects if the image can be searched for via that subject by
non-group members.

Subjects that are public will be visible to the world provided they
belong to a public group. That is, anybody, without logging in, can
see that there is a subject named "Juggling". They may or may not be
able to see pictures in that group, depending on the settings for the
individual image.

If you have a subject that you don't even want members of your group to
see on the list with the other subjects (like "wild goat sex", or
whatever) it can't be done, and it probably means you are not thinking
about crafty scrapbook in the right way. It is a privledge to be a
member of a group, and you should be thinking about fellow
group-members as people who have common interests who you want to be
able to access your stuff.

In this example probably the thing to do is to ask the site
administrator for a private group you can dump your stuff in.

CONTENT ITEMS (INDIVIDUAL PICTURES AND MOVIES)

A content item can be marked as visible to:

    1. The owner. -- Trumps all other settings. Only the person who
-- uploaded a picture with this setting may view
		   -- it.

    2. The group. -- Anyone in the group may view this picture.
-- Nobody outside the group may view the picture.

    3. The world. -- If the image is in a public group, everyone in
-- the world can view it. If the image is in a
-- private group, only other group members may
		   -- view it.
